Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan is how long you live in good health — able to move, work, train and enjoy life. Aerobic fitness is one of the most useful things you can measure and improve to support it.

Why aerobic fitness matters

Large studies have consistently linked higher cardiorespiratory fitness with better long-term health outcomes, including lower risk of early death. Fitness reflects how well your heart, lungs and muscles work together — and, importantly, it responds to training at any age.

It declines — but you have influence

Aerobic capacity tends to fall as we get older, but regular training can slow that decline and in many cases improve fitness for years. Strength and movement quality matter too, because they keep you capable in everyday tasks and protect against falls and injury.

What to measure

Turning numbers into next steps

The value of testing is not the number itself but what you do next. A good assessment gives you a starting point, a few clear priorities and a way to track progress over time.

A healthspan assessment is not a medical test and does not diagnose conditions. If you have a medical concern, speak to your doctor.
