In 2023 Saoirse began competing in triathlon, winning the National Junior Championships in Athy. That performance opened up opportunities for her, leading to selection for the Irish team at the World U23 Mixed Team Relay Championships in Hamburg later that summer, and for the European Junior Championships in Balıkesir, Turkey.
In 2024 Saoirse became Elite Draft-Legal National Champion. She competed once again at the European Championships, this time as an U23 athlete, and was later selected for the FISU World University Championships in Gdańsk, Poland, where she placed 36th in the individual race and 11th in the mixed team relay.
In 2025 her success continued: she raced her first standard-distance event and went on to become National Standard Distance Champion. She also continued to race internationally in Continental Cups, and in the Division 1 French Grand Prix with her team, Les Sables Vendée.
In 2026, following some good international results, Saoirse was selected to compete at the European U23 Sprint Championships in Elbląg, Poland, as well as the FISU World University Championships in Nyon, Switzerland.
