A bike fit is not only for racers. It is about setting up your position so you can ride comfortably and sustainably for the riding you actually do. Here are five common signs it is worth booking one.

1. Something hurts when you ride
Knee, back, neck, hand or saddle discomfort that keeps returning is often worth a look at your position. A fit reviews how you sit on the bike and why. (If you have an injury, tell us beforehand — a fit is not a substitute for medical care.)
2. You have a new bike
Different frames and components change your position, even in the same size. Setting a new bike up properly from the start avoids carrying old problems over.
3. You are increasing your training
A position that feels fine for an hour can become uncomfortable over four. If you are building volume for a sportive, triathlon or long event, a fit helps your position keep up.
4. You are changing discipline
Moving to a time-trial or triathlon setup, or into gravel, brings different demands. A fit helps you balance comfort, control and efficiency for the new position.
5. You have never had one
Many riders have only ever set their saddle height by feel. A fit gives you a considered starting point and a clear explanation of each change.
What happens at a fit
We talk through your riding, goals and any discomfort, assess your current position, make adjustments and explain them as we go. Bring your bike, shoes, pedals and kit.
